Professional Workshops and Training

As part of my commitment to promote well-being and cultivate more inclusive communities, I offer a series of psychoeducational workshops and trainings aimed at fostering awareness, knowledge, and skill development. These workshops and trainings are designed not just to inform but to inspire actionable change within individuals and organizations. These workshops/trainings can be carried in-person or virtually.

This workshop focuses on topics of culture, intersectionality, social determinants of health, racism, and privilege in Canada and Canadian institutions. Participants are not only introduced to key terms and concepts to increase multicultural awareness, but also learn about current issues and how to apply this knowledge. Active learning methods are used to help participants engage with material, reflect on their own experiences, and bolster skills needed for managing related issues within personal and professional settings. Resources and tools for navigating racism and supporting community members are also provided. This offering can be tailored for specific audience groups/organizational settings.

This workshop focuses on the topic of racial identity development and issues encountered by Canadians including in professional settings. Attendees are not only introduced to seminal racial identity development models developed by psychologists but are also learn about factors that promote racial identity development amongst both racialized minorities and dominant group members. Focus is placed on how this knowledge can be applied to bolster one’s own racial identity development and to scaffold racial identity development more generally. Tricky situations are explored, and racial identity development related resources are provided. Active learning methods are used throughout to engage attendees, develop intervention skills, and promote self-reflection. Special emphasis is placed on ally/community development and anti-racism. This offering can be tailored for specific audience groups/organizational settings.

This workshop focuses on topics of internationalization, xenophobia, privilege, and racism in Canada. Attendees are not only introduced to key terms and concepts to increase multicultural awareness but also learn about current issues and trends in the context of internationalization in institutional settings. Emphasis is placed on immigration experiences and unique considerations when interacting with others. Active learning methods are used to help attendees engage with material, reflect on their own experiences, and bolster skills needed for managing related issues within workplace and organizational settings. This workshop focuses on the topics of stress management and self-compassion, including in personal and professional settings. Participants learn about the various factors that can contribute to stress and how can impact our body, mind, and relationships. We will also explore social determinants of stress and forms of self-compassion. Participants learn practical strategies to manage stress and cultivate self-compassion, crucial skills for success in both personal and professional realms. Active learning methods are used throughout to engage attendees, develop intervention skills, and promote self-reflection. This offering can be tailored for specific audience groups/organizational settings.
